Frequently Asked Questions

1. Are the classified ads really free?

Yes. Photo and video classified ads are free. Free ads can only have 1 photo and video.

For maximum exposure, we offer optional ad display enhancements like extra photos, featured ad, highlighted ad, html links and so on. Fees vary by category and you will be able to review the fees before posting your ad.

2. How do I edit my ad?

You can edit the contents of your classified at any time. Simply click on the Members or Account link (found on any page), log into your account, and click on the Your Ads button. Click on the ad you want to edit, and then the Edit link on the resulting details page. You may see several upgrade options that you can skip by clicking the Continue button.

3. How do I contact an ad owner?

On every ad's detail page, click on the MESSAGE button that says "Write to the author about this ad".

4. Can I be notified of only new ads?

Yes. Search for an ad using the search button; enter the search terms that you want. Even if there are no current results, you can create a "search alert" at this point. When a new ad is posted that matches your search, we will automatically notify you via email.

You can manage (edit, delete) your search alerts from your account page.

5. What is the difference between a Network ad and a Local ad?

Through the AdConnect service, ads can be distributed to thousands of affiliate websites. When you post an ad, if the category for the ad is linked to the AdConnect service, you will have the option to post the ad to the AdConnect Network, or to just findlistings.com

Local Ad: Your ad is displayed only on findlistings.com

Network Ad: Your ad is displayed on all affiliated sites that subscribe to the ad's category. There are thousands of websites in the network.

6. How many ads can I post?

Free members are limited to 100 concurrent ads on our system at any given point. Gold members may run up to 5,000 ads at the same time. However, you can only list an item once, even if it fits in more than one category or location. We ask that you keep the classifieds "up-to-date". That means deleting ads after an item has sold, and keeping the description accurate. Violation of this rule may cause your account and all your ads to be deleted.

If you wish to place more than 100 ads, you can sign up to be a Gold member on your account page.

7. Can I put HTML tags in my ad?

Only Gold Members may include HTML in their ads. Free members cannot use HTML.

8. Gold Membership

Gold members enjoy great discounts on longer ads. Gold members have the option to upload up to 4 photos per ad. Gold Membership is only $20 a year.
